PID_1912--01Disclosing her government's plan to resolve the country's power crisis, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday told the House that over 13,000-MW electricity would be added to national grid by 2016. The Prime Minister said 1986-MW power would be added this year while 3339-MW, 3297-MW, 2182-MW and 2350-MW would in added respectively in the 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. She said under the government plan, 27 power plants with capacity of 4830- MW electricity are being constructed and the plants will be go for commissioning from 2012 to 2014. Mohammad Zamir & former minister AFM Fakhrul Islam Munshi made members of Awami League Advisory Council

Former diplomat Mohammad Zamir and former minister AFM Fakhrul Islam Munshi have been inducted as the new members in the Awami League Advisory Council. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inducted their names as the new members of her party's advisory council. With their induction, the number of the Awami League Advisory Council now stood at 27. However, the Awami League Advisory Council should comprise of a total of 41 members in accordance with its constitution.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reaffirmed unwavering support of the NAM member states of the Asia Pacific group to Iran to lead the movement in the next three years, not only to strengthen the NAM solidarity but also to build global partnership. The Prime Minister expressed the support while moving a vote of thanks on behalf of the Asia-Pacific group in the concluding session of the 16th NAM summit in the OIC Convention Center in Tehran tonight.
